We are all excited for the summer days so we can soak up the sunshine and have some Fernwood Fun!

Below are important reminders going into a new season, dates to put on the calendar, and some new efforts that are meant to make our community have an incredible, safe summer at the pool.

POOL COMMUNICATIONS:

The most important thing you can do this week is make sure you have saved the email addresses social@fernwoodpool.org and treasurer@fernwoodpool.org, so you can receive our e-newsletters from mailchimp.

PAY YOUR DUES:

Firstly, please pay your dues, so you can join in the fun as soon as Fernwood opens! Please contact John Coleman (treasurer@fernwoodpool.org) if you have questions about payment.

FERNWOOD SAFETY COMMITTEE

We are forming a safety committee!

If you are down at the pool often, help support when general safety is concerned. Looking for 50 members to participate and help lead pool safety watch efforts by thinking safety first. Email pool@fernwoodpool.org to express your willingness to help.

RECYCLING

We are working on assessing what recycling options are available for the pool. If you have a suggestion (particularly around cans & bottles) or are interested in helping with recycling, please email social@fernwoodpool.org.

POOL MANAGERS & HEAD GUARD

You can reach our pool managers, board, and head lifeguard at pool@fernwoodpool.org should you have any questions about pool rules or procedures. You can also find information on our website.

2023 MEMBERSHIP

Here are the steps to become a Member:

Application

There is a $25 non-refundable application fee that must be submitted with the application. Cost of membership is a one-time joining fee of $250.00 and annual dues of $475 for Families $150 for Seniors, and $250 for Singles.

Recommendation

You must submit 3 Current member recommendations.

Board approval

Once your application is submitted the board will review and notify your of your approval.

Can I bring a guest?

GUEST RULES

Each member must register his or her guests upon entering the pool enclosure and pay a fee of $5.00. There will be no charge for out-of-town guests (outside Spartanburg County) provided they have been identified by an adult member only, either in person or by a telephone call to the pool in advance of their arrival.

Members or the members’ family must accompany guests. Members are responsible for the conduct and safety of their guests. Guests must meet all requirements set by the pool and shall be subject to all pool rules.
The Board will have the right to limit the number of time an in-town guest may visit the pool.
Babysitters may accompany a pool member’s children only after they have notified the pool manager. They are subject to all requirements and rules.
